For a sixth summer, Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales is gracing the streets of Gatlinburg in the mountains of East Tennessee. This wonderful Gatlinburg event is an annual festival provides evening entertainment from mid June to mid August for Gatlinburg residents as well as visitors to the city who have come to enjoy other Gatlinburg attractions. Folks can enjoy authentic southern foods, stories and sounds on Gatlinburg’s streets each evening after enjoying a variety of Gatlinburg events and activities and nearby Pigeon Forge during the day.
Visitors to Gatlinburg can enjoy rafting on the Pigeon River or try the new ropes course. Golfers of all skill levels can enjoy time on the professional eighteen hole course (just six miles from Gatlinburg in Pigeon Forge) or try the three outdoor/indoor miniature golf courses at Old Gatlinburg Golf and Games. If you’re in the mood for less strenuous sight-seeing, there’s always the Hollywood Star Cars Museum or Ripley’s Aquarium.
If visitors prefer a sky-high view, there are several choice attractions worth visiting. These include the Gatlinburg Space Needle, which has an observation deck over 400 feet high, the Gatlinburg Sky Lift that provides a birds-eye view of the town, and the Zip Lines in Gatlinburg. There are nine zip lines designed for people of almost all ages — even young children of a certain weight may go with a trained guide. Good ticket prices are offered for combination packages that include the zip lines and the nearby ropes course.
