Thrill-lovers will be glad to know that Pigeon Forge is home to the longest zipline in the Smokies! Dedicated to combining the fun of ziplines with a fantastic view of the breathtaking Great Smoky Mountains, Legacy Mountain Ziplines provides a total of four miles of exciting adventure. When you zipline in Pigeon Forge, it is helpful to know a few things before you fly through the mountains!
At Legacy Mountain, the riders will experience a peak speed of about 50 miles per hour. The zipline adventure takes about three hours to complete. It includes a ride on each of the six ziplines at the site, with transportation provided between each one. After the last zipline, riders will be driven back to the start. Zipline riders will only have to walk approximately 200 yards throughout the course of the ride.
Can the entire family ride the zipline?
To ensure everyone has a great ride through the Smoky Mountains, riders must weigh at least 100 pounds. The top of the weight range for all riders is 275 pounds due to the dynamics involved with ziplines. Furthermore, ziplines are intended for those who are physically well and free from excessive fear of heights.
How many people can be in our group?
Yes, you can go with your group of friends or family. Two guides accompany each group of approximately 10 riders. For solo riders or small groups, several sets will combine to make a group of approximately 10 people. Although, groups of all sizes are welcome, it will be helpful to call ahead for details about arrangements for large parties. Reservations are required for everyone, except for the early-bird zipline tour that accepts walk-ups.
What clothes do I need to wear to go ziplining?
Closed-toe shoes are required for the zipline in Pigeon Forge. In addition, dangling jewelry is prohibited. It is best to wear shorts or pants to be the most comfortable while you are harnessed onto the zipline.
Are the ziplines safe for all riders?
Riders are carefully secured into a vest with two clips, each hooking to a separate solid steel zipline. At Legacy Mountain Ziplines, using two cables instead of just one adds reliable safety. In addition, two skillful guides with certifications from the Association for Challenge Course Technology accompany each group of zipliners.
